It was on a recent trip through Vietnam when we came upon the small seaside town of HoiAn that traced its roots to 13th century traders from all over Asia. Rich in history and heritage, HoiAn is home to artisans who hand-build historically accurate sailing ships out of Asian hardwoods and textiles. The workmanship is exquisite and the quality is exceptional. We were intrigued by the process and the people who put their time and love into each of these historical pieces. After some time we found a way to bring these beautiful artifacts to our friends here in America and Constellation Imports was born.

Our intent is to make these beautiful ships available to people who love the history and traditions of the sea and allure of tall ships and ships of the line. And at an exceptional value. All ships are hand-built plank on bulkhead with treated and kiln-dried hardwoods. No raw wood is used in the process of making the ships. All hulls are interiorly braced and constructed with historically accurate plank-on-frame construction. Each ship is crafted with mahogany, teak, and oak woods and high-quality wood stains are used to achieve period accuracy. Each build takes approximately three months to finish.
